Wow,when i heard about the Titanic and about the people that lost their live's on that ship then i cried my eye's out so much that it made me think of of my father that use to work for the U.S. Navy and he lost his life behind the wheel of his car coming home from working three job's.Anyways my heart go's out to the people that made it off that ship alive and who also lost their loved one as well.

Fantastic video footage Amazing to see what it was like in reality, yet such a tragedy and multiple loss of life. So sad in that respect. Hope to go to see the new Titanic Experience when it opens at the end of March 2012 Can't wait

Paula: Britannic was hit by a missile not a torpedo. I had a social studies project on titanic
Kirsten 01 July 2011
You are correct, Paula. Britannic was one and Olympic was the other.

Here's a news item that goes into more detail.

Didn't Titanic have sister ships? I remember reading about 'Britannic', she ended up sinking too, but had been designated as a Hospital ship. They don't know if she hit a mine, or was torpedoed.

I am fascinated with the Titanic and its disastrous maiden voyage, I often wonder had the liner not have sunk what a fantastic museum it would have been today to visit. I remember visiting the Titanic museum in Orlando Florida some years ago and seeing a replica of the grand staircase, and original clothing, shoes, cutlery, cups and saucers and furniture that was recovered from the ocean. There will never be another ship like it.

Titanic was west bound from England on her maiden voyage when it was lost, it never sailed from
NY.
