Circuit of Ireland on 6 April 2012
Belfast City Hall Start Plans
All competing cars for both the IRC and National rallies will assemble in the Titanic Quarter. They will be released from 1430 – 1500.
The rally cars will be set out in a display fashion around the roadways within the west lawn grounds of the City Hall. This area holds approx. 20 cars. It is anticipated that the first 20 cars will arrive in the grounds around 1445 - 1515.
This is the opportunity for spectators to get up close to the cars and to meet the drivers for photographs and autographs in their official Rally programmes.
The first rally car will proceed to the start ramp at 1558. On the ramp the drivers will be interviewed over a PA system before turning right along Chichester Street towards the first stage at the Titanic Quarter.
When the first 20 cars have started, all remaining cars will enter the City Hall grounds and proceed around the turning circle and over the start ramp.
Titanic Quarter
- Doors open from 2pm
- Actual stage starts at 17:00pm
- A number of Group B cars will be driven on the Super Special, before the competition, including the hugely impressive Ari Vatanen 4 wheel drive, 4 wheel steering and 700 brake horse power Peugeot 405 T16, which was driven to victory on the 1989 Pikes Peak Hillclimb in America. This is a very rare appearance for this gem, of which only two cars were only ever built.
- Before the Stage starts there will also be a Celebrity Challenge and former world motorcycle street bike freestyle champion Mattie Griffin will amaze the crowds on his BMW F 800 R
