As the closest city to the wreck site, this is where bodies from the Titanic were brought for burial. There are three cemeteries, the largest of which is Fairview. Don’t be fooled by the grave for a J Dawson. It has nothing to do with the character of Jack Dawson as played by Leonardo di Caprio in the film. Joseph Dawson was a member of the crew, a trimmer from Dublin. The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic has around twenty artefacts brought ashore from the wreck site including one of Titanic’s deck chairs.
