Titanic Facts

There is a world of Titanic facts at your disposal. The Titanic is one of the most fascinating and enduring stories of all time. What is it which makes Titanic such a subject of fascination for so many people around the world? Perhaps it is the very nature of the story itself. The world’s largest ship, on its maiden voyage and carrying some of the world’s richest people has a freak accident on her maiden voyage with a catastrophic loss of life.

Loss of Life

Hundreds of lives were lost amongst the poorer passengers on the ship, many of them sailing to the new world to find better opportunities for themselves and their families. If the story of Titanic were produced as a work of fiction, people would have difficulty believing that such a widespread tragedy could happen.  Within that rope of broader story there are threads of smaller stories which weave together to produce a fascinating tale.

A Story of Tragedy

There are stories of heroism, cowardice, loyalty, leadership and tragedy. There are many reasons why people are drawn to the story of Titanic and want to find out more facts about how and why the Titanic was built, the pioneering engineering, the intricacies of her journey and the fatal errors which in hindsight seem so basic. Some people will be interested in facts on how Titanic was built, some will be more concerned with the stories of people who sailed on her.
Some people are fascinated by the discovery of the wreck and the artefacts which have been recovered. Whichever your particular interest in the Titanic, we want to put all these varying pieces of information into manageable categories of Titanic Facts for you and present the most interesting, the most up to date and in some cases, the most bizarre. Consider this as your “go to” site for Titanic facts, reference, explanation, exploration and trivia.

It's too bad to hear all about these deaths - I'm learning about the Titanic and I'm in 7th grade. This is a very good website to go to and a very interesting story and movie.

It's such a great story. There is so much to it that we don't know but I wish we did.

Now I really hate ice and icebergs. I wish no one had to die on the Titanic.

The Titanic is so interesting. My friends call me a Titanic nut because I always talk about the Titanic.

It breaks my heart to learn about sad things in history that happened like this. Yet I actually wish I could go back in time and experience this.

I recently went to Vegas and saw the Titanic Exhibit at the Luxor casino. Being surrounded by the actual faces of the passengers, artifacts and an actual piece of the Titanic made the experience so moving and heartbreaking. I highly recommend the exhibit if you are in Vegas.

I love the Titanic so much and its history! It is just I wish it could have crashed somewhere else so people could scuba dive and explore it. But I would not say that I wish it didn't crash, because if it didn't crash we wouldn't have this kind of history. The Titanic was an amazing piece of work and could have just lasted a little bit longer.

I'm doing a report on this for social studies it is very interesting but I feel so distraught that so
many innocent people died. I am so glad that people did survive, I also think it's kinda mysterious how the ship was called even unsinkable by God and it sunk on its first voyage

My main interest is the crew, they were the guys who gave up their lives to save others, badly done by the White Star Line and not much better in the courts, locked up like crooks, and given little help. If any one has any storys about the officers and crew for my TTitanic exhibition please let me know at tonymac88@live.co.uk
